The Story
Kenny Cheeseman started this picnic with one simple idea: bring family and friends together. No agenda. No formality. Just a day to catch up, laugh, eat good food, listen to music, and remind each other that no matter how far apart life takes us, we are still family.
What started as a small backyard gathering has grown into an annual tradition that people look forward to all year long. The Cheeseman Family Picnic is about connection. It is about the kids running around together, the older generation telling stories, the grill going all day, and the feeling you get when you look around and realize everyone you love is in the same place.
That is why we do this. That is why we keep coming back. And that is why August 8th, 2026 is already on the calendar.
Noon until 6PM. Save the date. Mark your calendar. Tell your people. This is the one you do not want to miss.
Hampton, Virginia. Trees, water, open space, and room for the whole family to spread out and enjoy the day.
